PRI 2008 - Saturday Coverage

It is the final day at the PRI Show here in Orlando. We have scoured the Orlando Convention Center for the hottest new products, and it was much of the same today.

Speed Max Cool Can for Fuel Cooling

Back in the days of old, drag racers used a coffee can with coiled tubing inside and topped it off with some ice to help decrease the temperature of the fuel before it enters the engine. The concept is simple; a single billet aluminum cylinder houses over nine feet of tubing that is coiled around inside the cylinder, with a large opening hole for ice. The tubing size varies depending on the use of 6 to 10 AN lines and is pressure tested to 200 PSI.

There is just enough space inside to insert a frozen, 12-ounce can of your favorite beverage for hours of fuel cooling . When you’re done, a shut off valve on the bottom of the cylinder can be opened to expel the wasted water.
