Speed Inc.'s 2010 Camaro Close to Breaking 10s

The Speed Inc.'s shop car is extremely close to breaking into the 10 second mark. On October 4th, the Speed Inc. 2010 Chevy Camaro made a few passes in the 11 second range with full weight.

According to Larry on LS1tech, the car's best run of the day was 11 seconds at 126.7 mph with a 1.55 second 60-ft launch. Also find out more at Speed Inc.

The best 60-ft launch of the day was timed at 1.53 seconds.

The TVS2300 charged Camaro was running at 10psi with 100-octane fuel. Modifications include: TVS2300 Supercharger at 10psi, SuperMaxx LT's with cats and stock midpipe, SLP Loud Mouth II, RotoFab Cold Air Intake (using Magnuson Tube), Eibach lowering springs, and 18" C6 Replica wheels wrapped with M&H 345/35/18 Drag Radials.

Further, the Speed Inc. car is running with a stock clutch, stock drive shaft, stock axle shafts, and no weight reduction. According to Larry, the race weight of the Camaro comes in at a nice and healthy 4050 pounds. Larry mentions the car is running around 630 horsepower with 100 octane and tune at 10psi.

The last run of the day could have very well been his 10 second pass. Trying to gain a better start time, Larry spun the wheels upon launch, granting him a 1.64 60-ft ending in an 11.01-second pass at 125.99 mph.

The Speed Inc. Camaro was run again on October 10th. During one of his runs, Larry felt that one of the stock axle shafts gave up. "I was in the middle of 3rd on a record setting pass and felt a slight vibration midway through 3rd, then a little shift in the rear, grind and then car smacked the limiter," he explained. "I eased on the brakes and then let off and tucked off the side side figuring we broke the diff or something. The car can move under very, very light power, but otherwise is grinds something in the rear and I have heard the same noise on C5 when the axle shaft or output shafts brakes...Still went 11.17@104 hitting the brakes and then coasting through the lights,."

Larry plans to have the car back on the track on October 25th, and we will most likely see his 4050 pound Camaro break into the 10 second barrier.
