So you killed the clutch in your LS-powered Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, or GTO? Frankly, we're not surprised, knowing the way you flog that poor car. Now you have to replace it, but slipping another stock-spec disc in there is just going to put you right back where you started if you don't change your ways. You don't want that. We don't want that. And
Centerforce definitely doesn't want that. But unlike you and us, they've actually done something about it by creating a new DFX part number specifically for 1997-2007 LS-powered Pontiacs and Chevys.
The DFX series is designed for applications that need more holding power than stock, and
this new clutch features a high capacity pressure plate and a larger-diameter 12-inch assembly with a ceramic "button" style disc. It's a direct bolt-in replacement for the stock clutch assembly, but incorporates the patented Centerforce centrifugal weight system for maximum clamping force without killing your left leg, a patented ball bearing design to help ease pedal loads and improve engagement release, and a nodular iron pressure plate for strength. If you have to do the work of a clutch swap anyway, you want to get it right, so check out
the Centerforce website for more information or give them a call at (928) 771-8422 to get your clutch questions answered by the experts.
