Carolina East Medical Center's parking lot was lined up with over 30 Corvettes yesterday. Not normally a host to car events, the medical center turned in to a full blown Twin Rivers Corvette club meeting on Sunday, February 28th.
According to
Newbern Sun Journal, this was a special show for a special member, a terminally ill cancer patient and fellow Corvette club member, Paula Clearwater.

Husband and fellow member, Dale Clearwater is the owner of the family’s 1979 Corvette. Like most stories, wife, Paula Clearwater was not a fan of the purchase and club membership. "She has grown to love it and especially she loves to hang out with club members at functions," explained Dale.
According to club President, Bill White, the idea for the show was stemmed from a request made by Paula Clearwater just last week. During White's visit, the 44-year old mother of two had three requests for him. The first was to send her regards to the rest of the club members and the second was to let the other members know that they could visit any time they wanted to. In asking for the third request, she said, "I want to see the Corvettes lined up one last time," to which White replied, "Honey, that's exactly what you'll get."
Over thirty cars from several different counties made the special meeting request with a weeks notice. Club members and their families brought homemade banners and signs that they displayed in the parking lot for Paula Clearwater. Unfortunately, Paula Clearwater was having a bad day and could not make it to the hospital window to see her friends. The gathering was filmed and will be shown to her later.
