Paul Major may just be one of our favorite outlaw drag radial racers and last month he had a small mishap with the barriers at Cecil County Dragway during their Outlaw Street Car Shootout. Paul has been working on the tune up with the help of DMC Racing, but the mishap pushed things back a bit. Paul made contact with the wall and caused some minor damage to the front end but nothing too severe. The car made its way back to DMC to get repaired as Dennis and his crew have Paul’s Corvette back together and possibly better than ever.
For more details on Paul’s Corvette visit DMC Racing’s
website.
Dennis pulled the front clip off for some repairs and repaint while the chassis was put on the frame machine to be straightened. The frame rails absorbed most of the impact along with the body, which will be reinforced with a panel under the nose for more stability.
DMC has replaced all the broken pieces and has repainted the body back to its stellar new look with their in house paint shop. Dennis and Paul have reported that the car is complete as of yesterday and plans are to head out to Atco, New Jersey for a test session on Friday. Hopefully we will receive a call from Paul with some great test results. Unfortunately it seems as we will not see Paul this weekend at Cecil County, but he will surely be back and in quest of that famed six-second pass that he has come so close to.
