The shop dogs are all about motorsports. Tom and I have been known to watch the world championships of lawnmower racing.
There's some pretty bitchin' 5 hp briggs and stratton motors out there.
When
Cornwell brought our new tools in, we made sure to get two creepers so that we could have creeper races in the garage.
Matter of fact, we'd race anything with wheels and most things without wheels.
I thought it would be appropriate to show a clip of one of the shop dogs in all of our racing glory.
Let me set the table for this clip. At the Turkey Classic a couple of years ago at the fairgrounds in
Victorville, California, a bunch of us got together to race in the four cylinder
Sport/Compact division.
My buddy Stan got a Honda CRX and painted 04 on the side and I got an old Ford Probe and painted 40 on the side.
Stan led most of the race with me right behind him. Knowing Stan, he wouldn't want me to
let him win, so I gave it the short tracker's effort. Bumping and banging whenever I could.
I knew the only way to get by Stan was to root like a pig down on the bottom, get underneath him and push him up the track.
My best chance came when we were coming up to lap traffic.
This was not Stan's first goat roping though, and he knew that he had to defend the bottom of the track while running the higher line to keep momentum and speed up.
Watch my black and yellow Ford probe (The Black and Yellow Attack) chasing the silver honda CRX.
Here's how it happened:
The shop dogs will race, anything......anytime........and almost anywhere.
