Video: CNN Compares The Dollar Against The 2011 Corvette Grand Sport
CNN Money recently released a video on their website of a test drive and overview of the 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. Many people are fans of the Corvette, but even more can’t justify the cost for a two seater weekend warrior. CNN Money correspondant, Peter Valdez-Dapena compared the almighty dollar against the Corvette in an attempt to shed some light on buying the Chevrolet sports car.
The 2011 Corvette Grand Sport is designed for those who wish to buy a Corvette, but can’t justify the high cost of the ZR1 or ZO6. The Grand Sport is equipped with a 436 horsepower LS engine, ZO6 suspension, wide tires, and a wide body with Grand Sport graphics. Valdez-Dapena commented while driving the Corvette that it is a unique occasion where your car is comfortable enough to commute every day or even go on a cross-country road trip, yet still be able to visit the track on the weekends and be competitive. The only downfall about the 2011 Corvette is the outdated interior which was first introduced nearly five years ago. In this day and age, Chevrolet’s other models such as the Camaro have surpassed the Corvette’s leather coverings and fake carbon fiber.
The analyst concluded that at a base MSRP of $54,790, the 6.2L Grand Sport is a great buy because you not only get a weekend warrior, but you get a daily driver, a long distance traveler, and a race car packed into one, 436 horsepower punch. Check out the full video story on the CNN Money website.
