VP Racing Fuels, world leader in race fuel technology, today introduced its newest fuel – VP Sportsman. “Recognizing that the race engines of many sportsman competitors require somewhat lower octane ratings than what is provided by VP’s C12 and many of our other specialty blends, VP Sportsman will be a more cost effective solution for many bracket racers and competitors in other forms of motorsports,” said Steve Burns, VP’s Director-Research & Development.
“A leaded, nonoxygenated fuel with a motor octane of 107, VP Sportsman will offer better detonation protection than “standard” 110 octane fuels, for a comparable price,” Burns added. “It will generate more power than standard 110s as well, so it leaves nothing on the table in terms of performance while having a smaller impact on the budget. Besides drag racing, VP Sportsman will have application in circle track, road racing and powersports – virtually anything that moves.”
