Wagon Or Way Gone?

Like my name says, I'm the new guy around here. While working here for the short time I have been craving a project of my own. The problem was two things. For one I wanted something off the beaten path, rather than another Camaro or Mustang. The other was cold hard cash. I'm a full time college student so money is something that naturally avoids me at all costs.

Enter this beast!

This boys and girls is a Chevy Caprice Classic Wagon. I came across this car after hearing about it down the grapevine and am thinking of picking it up for an easy to handle $400. I haven't taken a look under the hood but the guy told me it had a 305 or a 307, he wasn't sure. Not that it would matter because we would be ripping it out. So what I've decided to do is come to you the viewers for help. Should I pick this brick up? If you say yes should we beef it up with a Big Block or go for the real sleeper and have an LS engine in it? I NEED INPUT! So to anyone who has always thought about responding but never has this is your time. There are no wrong answers, unless you say a Ford motor....

The car will be needing some work as there is a wee lot of rust and damage as you can see.

Now after seeing the car last night after work, I've been talking about it all day to the point were people are starting to get a little pissed of the car but mostly just me. James even went as for to say that Project 666, an '86 Mustang Coupe with a projected 666 whp from our sister site Stangtv, would be able to take the wagon down. Now I've never driven a BBC Wagon but something the weighs around 4500 lbs with the driver has to be quick with that much power. So it seems that we might just be having the classic Chevy vs. Ford battle right here in our humble office.

I've seen many of the smaller, mid 80's Buick wagons redone as hot rods. I don't see why the full size would be any different. It'd be fascinating to have a hot rod you could haul more than one friend in.

I think it would be funny as hell to see the two guys in the rear facing seat in the trunk.

I think you need to swap in a 706 pro street engine.
